Katie Higson

My Teddy Bear

That old t-shirt that smells of daddy

That old blanket I carried with me

Grandpa’s hat, Grandma’s gloves

Uncle Tony’s smelly socks.

These are things you will never smell.

Daddy’s drawing of Kurt Cobain

Mummy’s stories of love and pain

Grandpa’s plants, Grandma’s food

Uncle Mark’s old paintings too.

These are things you will never see.

Daddy’s awful music collection

Me and my Lana De Ray obsession

Grandpa’s chanting, Grandma’s singing

Your uncle Chris and his laughing.

These are things you will never hear.

My little Teddy Bear.
